Double Standards in 'anti-Racism'
Ever notice how anti-racism only targets one race?
Article originally written and published by Dr. Ian Spry QC, editor of Australia’s original National Observer, in Autumn 2004.
One of the most disturbing recent developments in the Western democracies has been the arising of a selective and vociferous "anti-racism" lobby.
Certainly one race should not persecute another. But the new "anti-racism" is not concerned with that issue, but rather with using differences in racial groups in order to break down traditional values in Western societies.
For example, the "anti-racists" have attempted to use the claimed "stolen generation" of half-caste Aboriginal children in order to attack Australian society. But these attempts have been unsuccessful: in court cases dealing with the matter it has appeared that Aboriginal mothers wished their half-case children to be looked after outside Aboriginal settlements and that the children were accepted with their consent. Further, any racism that existed was on the part of the Aboriginal communities themselves, who routinely mistreated and even killed their half-caste children or made their sexual services available for alcohol or other goods. Indeed, the Aboriginals have shown themselves to be "racist" in a serious and distasteful sense. But the "anti-racism" lobby is not interested in those matters. Its target is mainstream Australian society.
A further example is seen in Moslem activity in Australia. Non-Moslems do not set out to rape Moslem women. But in a much-publicised scandal in Sydney it was indicated that Moslem youths systematically picked out young non-Moslem women for rape. This embarrassed the "anti-racism" lobby, which would have wished the facts to be the converse of what they were.
The aggressive political and social behaviour by Moslems in Australia has become a matter of serious concern. Our most senior Islamic cleric is Sheik Taj El-Din El-Hilali, who stated on 13 February 2004 of the terrorist destruction of the World Trade Centre in 2001, in which more than three thousand people died, "September 11 is God's work against oppressors". El-Hilali has become notorious for this comment and other comments supporting terrorism. But, again, the "anti-racism" lobby has preferred to disregard these dangerous statements. Indeed, the "anti-racism" lobby and their allies have actually caused two pastors to have to defend themselves in proceedings brought against them by the Islamic Council of Victoria, pursuant to "anti-vilification" legislation enacted by the Bracks government. The two pastors had, in essence, drawn attention to some of the more dangerous aspects of Islamic teaching, whereby believers are authorized to lie in the cause of advancing jihad. The two pastors have thus been the victim of the "anti-racism" double standard: aggressive minorities are permitted there excesses, but every attempt is made to undermine, and when possible attack, those with traditional Western values.
One may well ask why this selective and destructive "anti-racism" has had successes in Western countries. In regards to immigration, for example, the great majority of countries have very strict rules. Some, like Japan, allow virtually no immigration at all; others, like Israel and most of the countries of Asia, America and Africa, impose very strict conditions and limitations on the entry for non-tourist purposes of disparate races. Typically, the "anti-racism" lobby is silent in regard to these many countries.
But the "liberal", "anti-racist" Western democracies have allowed themselves to be seduced into believing that it would be morally improper to take into account the race or religion of an intending immigrant.
This extraordinary concession has provoked incredulity amongst foreign commentators and has led to organized attempts by nationals of countries with very low standards of living to take advantage of the situation before sanity returns. So now France has five million Moslem inhabitants, and the United Kingdom has similarly large numbers of West Indians and Pakistanis. In the United States the introduction of Blacks some centuries ago is still a cause of internal hostility and confrontation; and with a continual influx of Hispanic illegal immigrants from across the Mexican border it is calculated that during this century the United States will cease to be a predominantly white country.
In Australia this same process of deterioration has now taken place for many years. The number of Moslems in Australia may now be in the order of 350,000. Many of them come from countries such as Afghanistan or Iraq which are in many respects primitive. They do not assimilate with the remainder of the Australian population, and indeed they do not wish to assimilate with "non-believers".
Further, in the Western world birthrates have fallen to far below replacement levels, and white populations are decreasing. In Spain the birthrate per couple is 1.23 (far below the replacement level of 2), in Italy it is 1.20, and even in prosperous non-Western countries the rates are very low: for example, 1.34 in Japan and 1.5 in Singapore. In Australia the rate has already fallen to 1.73, and because this rate includes high rates for Aboriginals and Moslems, the actual rate for white Australians is much lower than 1.73.
A consequence of these declining birth-rate figures is that, even apart from further immigration, groups such as Moslems will form an increasing proportion of the population, and over sufficient time may be a majority.
"Anti-racism" is an aspect of "political correctness". "Political correctness" may be seen as a collection of propositions that, despite their apparent good faith, are in fact directed to undermine traditional Western values. It is supported primarily by left-of-centre groups.
But "anti-racism" may be regarded as more dangerous than extreme feminism. Extreme feminists may indeed do considerable damage, both to others and to themselves, but as with extreme movements generally, their time will pass, and a balance will be found. But in so far as the double standards of "anti-racism" give rise to the aggregation of large unassimilated groups in Australia, which groups are more-over increasing in numbers at a greater rate than the general community, the problem will not pass with the elapsing of time but will in fact grow.
The "anti-racism" lobby has had unexpected success in many quarters. In particular, in schools "anti-racism" is promoted and indeed is included in formal syllabi, to the exclusion of many traditional values. And it appears that no government minister is prepared to depart from the extraordinary proposition that in processing applicants to immigrate no account is to be taken of their races or religions.
Wow, RIP Dr Spry. 20 years ahead of his time. Hard to imagine a lawyer getting away with writing something like this these days.
